The Women Deliver conference is a global event bringing together the development and health community on a common goal: improved women's health, safe pregnancy and childbirth. The aim of the conference is to highlight the critical links between the health of women, mothers, and newborns and the economic, political, and social health of nations. Women Deliver will present data and share evidence, including case studies, to document the contribution of women to national well-being. Attendees will include those working in sexual and reproductive health, education, gender issues and poverty reduction, in combating HIV/AIDS, and in promoting human rights, nutrition, and child health; health care professionals, financial and strategic planners, educators, human rights activists, economists, and human rights activists, as well as key decision-and policymakers from approximately 30 developing countries. As a primary focus of the conference is political, invitees include internationally noted public leaders and figures who can rally and sustain international commitments to women's health.
